Lucky you - we list for you all the stage profiles of the 2023 Tour de France. We'll expand upon these stages with our picks and favourites as the race draws nearer. Feel free to bookmark though - we'll be back.
There's a dearth of Time Trial stages in this Tour de France compared to previous years, so if you're a fan of a climber who's hasn't been training on the TT bike over the winter, they may be worth an each way bet.
Stage 1
A number of small, not too challenge climbs break up this stage. Should allow for a number of riders who aren't critical in the GC battle to wear yellow to start off the race. Expect a Basque rider who wants to win for the home crowd to do something special.
Stage 2
The final climb at the end of 8.2km @ 5.2% isn't extremely hard, but it's long enough and close enough to the finish to provide separation. The GC battle could begin this early.
Stage 3
No climbs of note that should distance the peloton from GC contenders. Expect a break to win or a bunch sprint near the finish.
Stage 4
Basically a transition stage. Expect a bunch sprint finish.
Stage 5
The race starts to get interesting here. The Col du Soudet climb in the middle of the stage of 15.1km @ 7.0% is long enough to provide a chance for a decent gap to form for some riders, especially if they can hold it to the final climb of 9.2km @ 7.6% before 8k of flat near the finish.
Stage 6
The first mountain finish of the grand tour. It's not a Vuelta level climb for the finish, but 16kms @ 5.3% is nothing to scoff at.
Stage 7
🥁Drum roll please. This dear readers is a transition stage. Expect a bunch sprint or a break. The GC folks will use today to rest their legs after what it most certainly separation after the first pass of mountain stages.
Stage 8
Do the GC contenders really need another easy day? We guess so. There's a few hard days coming up. Expect a bunch sprint or a break away if one can form over these paltry hills.
Stage 9
Stage 10
Stage 11
Stage 12
Stage 13
Stage 14
Stage 15
Stage 16 (Individual Time Trial)
Decently interesting looking ITT. That's a relatively steep finishing climb (3k @ 9%) which should benefit those climber GC riders who aren't true GC riders.
