Romain Grégoire winning Stage 2 o 4 Jours de Dunkerque

Grégoire is fast and people don't quite know it yet. But we won't blame them because this man is only twenty years of age. Grégoire picked up the general classification win at 4 Jours de Dunkerque, and in that feat won a stage and nearly missed out on stage five placing second.

Grégoire has also had some solid top ten performances at Tour de Suisse and between those two races seems like he's ready for a Grand Tour. Which he's doing. La Vuelta in 2023. We're excited.

Earlier in the year Grégoire has shown his spunk as a strong rouleur, placing eighth at a tough field in Strade Bianche (World Tour level) and a fifth, sixth and second at Faun Ardèche Classic, Trofeo Laigueglia, and GP du Morbihan respectively.

Strengths

Grégoire is a strong rouleur with a fast sprint that is getting faster. Grégoire is undervalued in this regard. He picked up the points jersey at the 2022 U23 Giro and we expect him to keep heading in this "points" direction.

When to bet

We'd happily place money down on him as a dark horse for Groupama-FDJ's sprinter if they didn't bring Demare to future events. Or on any rouleur based stage with some hills that will probably end in a bunch finish.

Picking him as a potential green jersey contender if Philipsen isn't on the start line of the event is also not a bad shout.

Grégoire's time trial isn't super strong quite yet though so hold off in that regard.
