Matteo Jorgenson 🇺🇸
Ever wonder why Movistar is having a vicissitudes of fortune in their early season, racking up UCI points and top 10s galore compared to the previous few years? Two names immediately come to mind: Oier Lazkano (who placed second at Dwars Door Vlaanderen) and Matteo Jorgenson.
Jorgenson, who's only 23, hails from the United States and has been showing his form this year with an incredibly strong performance early at the Tour of Oman. Jorgenson won the General Classification by a healthy margin (along with the points and young rider jersey). Jogenson also managed to clutch a stage win (stage 3) on a gnarly hill top finish.
Hot on the heels of Tour of Oman he placed 8th at the incredibly stacked Paris-Nice multi-day stage race (both Vingegaard and Pogačar were there).
And just to let people know that he can ride more than for the General Classification - he's had an outstanding early classics season, finishing 4th at E3 Saxo Bank Classic and 9th at the Tour of Flanders (RVV).
We're more than excited to see how Jorgenson continue to develop, and regardless of if he does, he's proven to be an incredibly strong contender in both stage and classic races across the board.
For those wanting to lay down bets early he's scheduled for both Tour de Romandie and the Tour de France (which will have betting odds up on most major sites). We however will probably wait until the Top 10 odds come out closer to the Tour de France, but will happily place an each way bet on him for the Tour of Romandie.
Currently his Tour de France odds are 751.00 (so could be worth a minimum each way - but he'll likely be riding for Mas).
